My name is Angela. I am from Shanghai, China. Since 1994, I’ve been working as a Chinese language teacher for more than 20 years in Singapore. I had taught countless local and foreign children, primary and middle school students.
Every age group has different language ability. I use various teaching materials and understand how to use the appropriate educational methods to guide and teach children.
Here is a little background of different age group:
- Pre-school children (2-6 years old):
This age group usually takes the form of games, nursery rhymes, and poems, allowing pre-school children to learn Chinese in happy games. The music and rhythm are relaxed and happy. The beautiful music and body language can stimulate children's interest in Chinese learning.
- Children’s group
learning is more diverse in teaching, such as reading nursery rhymes, learning ancient poems, describing simple and easy-to-understand, colourful children’s stories, allowing children to enter the story role, and at the same time allowing children to play different roles in the story, so that every student Participate in it to improve children's language expression ability and listening ability.
I will also be teaching of Chinese Pinyin, a necessary course for Primary One.
- Primary and secondary school students
From my 20 years of teaching experience, I have been serious and shown responsible attitude towards each student. Provide orderly and regular explanations and patient guidance for the learning courses of local students or foreign students across the island. According to the school's curriculum, in addition to each lesson, it also conducts targeted exercises in conjunction with extracurricular textbooks. Give students the greatest degree of help and understanding. Encourage students actively, so that every student truly loves Chinese. Teaching can be divided into groups or one-on-one teaching. Whenever students make progress in learning, it will be the teacher's greatest happiness. The good academic performance of students is the greatest satisfaction and accomplishment in my heart as a teacher.
I have met many Chinese and non-Chinese parents in the teaching field for more than 20 years, and their warm and friendly spirits have greatly encouraged me. I will continue to do a good job as a Chinese teacher. At the same time, the teaching evaluation and recommendation letters of the parents of the students are attached for the reference of parents in need.
